Hanging in a Tree.

I left the store and walked around. I walked by a tree and heard leaves blowing in the wind. I found this sound interesting so I clipped my microphones to the branches. I was recording as a couple of joggers ran by, kicking up leaves as they passed. This made a very cool sound. Enjoy!
Note: Mics are not clipped to me! They were clipped to the branches of this tree.

Russian Talk

While I was recording the last sound, I kept recording and also picked up the clerk and a customer speaking Russian as the clerk bagged up the customers things. (Imagine that!) I felt that this was too interesting not to post, seeing as a lot of us have never heard fluent Russian. (If you can speak fluent Russian I envy you). Enjoy the sound of the Russian language.
Note: Mics are still clipped to my shoulder. The two speakers are both women and they did not know I was recording them.

Register vs. The Refrigerator

I continued my walk down Oakland and I came across a Russian Food and Gifts store. This seemed interesting so I decided to venture in. As I entered the sound of the refrigerator filled the small building. I walked toward the candy I got this interesting sound of the register and the refrigerator mixed together. Enjoy!
Note: Mics were still clipped on my shoulders.

Bug/Motorcycle

I was walking down Oakland Ave. In Milwaukee, WI (where I live) . I saw a bug and tired to record it when a motorcycle went by. This created a cool combined sound. Enjoy!
Note: As I recorded this sound I was bent over onto the ground, my mics were clipped onto my shoulders.

Creepy Echo

I recorded this sound while I was walking to go on my drift walk. I recorded the sound of me walking down an enclosed staircase. I picked up not only the sound of me walking but also the echo of me walking.
Note: As I recorded this sound my mics were clipped onto my shoulders.

Here is the sound. Enjoys its creepiness!

Drift Strategies

The Strategy
I would walk until I got to a stop light. Once at the stop light, I would cross the street of which ever cross walk light was on first and then turn right. If I was walking down a street I had already been down, instead of taking a right, I would take a left.

My Path
The path I took started in a stairwell. My first sound is the echoing sound of me walking down an enclosed stairwell. From there I took a left and continued down N Maryland Ave., in Milwaukee, WI. Once I reached the first stop light I crossed the street to the right of the light, then took a left. I did this because if I had taken a right I would have gone back down the way I came. I continued down Maryland Ave until I came to the next stop light which was Oakland. I kept going forward and then turned right onto Oakland. I continued down this way, and then I stopped to get my next sound which was a bug. While recording the bug I also recorded a loud motorcycle passing by. I continued down this road and came to the next stop light at Edgewood Ave. I then took the right cross walk and then took a left. I continued up Oakland Ave until I viewed a Russian store, which I wondered into and recoded two women speaking Russian and the sound of a cash register mixed in with a refrigerator. I exited the store continuing my route and then came to the next stop light, I crossed going straight forward and then took a right and crossed the street again. I continued on Melano Blvd. and heard leaves swishing in the wind. I attached my microphone to the branches of the tree and then recorded the sound. While recording, a couple of joggers ran past kicking up some leaves.

Map 2

Here is another view of the area I walked. It's easier to see the street names in this one.
